Bracton - medieval_terms.enacademic.com

This name is given to an immense work on common law, entitled * De Legibus et Consuetudinibus Angliae (On the Laws and Customs of England). The Bracton referred to is the judge Henry Bracton (d. 1268). However, it is now thought that Bracton was not himself responsible for the text, but that it was the work of an anonymous clerk, much like the *LHP.
